All about Panic Attacks
Panic attacks normally have their roots in an emotional event of some kind – something difficult from your past. They can also be triggered by a lack of sleep or because of excessive drink or drugs.
They begin with emotions like fear or anxiety and rapidly become physical – with sensations such as hot flushes, chest pain, a tightness in the chest or shortness of breath.
You hyperventilate, which can rapidly make you feel like you are losing control. This makes you even more scared – and the cycle repeats, getting worse each time.
The list of physical symptoms that people with a panic disorder may experience is a long one. Common symptoms also include:
- Nausea
- Chills
- Lightheadedness or dizziness
- Numbness or a tingling sensation somewhere in the body
- Chest pain
- A thumping heart
Dealing with more frequent panic attacks
Some people who suffer from panic attacks have them very rarely – literally a few times in their lives. When they are more frequent, however, therapy can help give people coping mechanisms for the anxiety that leads to the attack, and can also neutralise or ‘dial down’ the effect of traumatic events.
I’ve found that one of the most effective options is hypnotherapy, which can be very helpful and has a high success rate when it comes to anxiety disorders of this kind. It can help to reduce the intense anxiety that you feel, and equip you with coping strategies that provide a much more positive outlook.
The tools I use are incredibly powerful and effective, and include Havening and NLP. I have used these to help people during thousands of in-person and online hypnotherapy sessions.
How Hypnotherapy for Panic Attacks can help you
It’s possible for you overcome the distressing feelings associated with panic attacks and to feel calmer and more in control. This is an outcome that is incredibly attractive to anyone with an anxiety disorder of any kind – and it is often very achievable in just one or two sessions of hypnosis.
That’s the big advantage of hypnotherapy over other types of treatment: it’s quick. I believe that speed is of the essence when helping people, and most people see dramatic improvement very quickly. We will work with you to try and create lasting change.
Understanding where and when you are feeling anxious
Before treatment starts, you’ll complete a simple questionnaire and make a note of any times and places where you feel the kind of extreme anxiety that leads to a panic attack. This enables us to design your treatment specifically for you.
Throughout your session or sessions, you will feel relaxed and comfortable. There is no physical contact, and you’ll be conscious throughout. It’s one of the many reasons that online hypnosis works just as well as when seeing clients face to face.
We will gently guide through the powerful techniques to enable you to potentially remove your fear from its roots. We will also give you some incredibly useful resources that you can use at any time to make you feel more calm and more in control.
Hypnotherapy makes is possible to feel the way you once did in the past – back in the days before panic attacks had started to become a problem for you.
